From First Enquiry to Wedding Day: A Florist’s Journey With You

You’re engaged - congratulations! This marks the start of an exciting, emotional, and beautifully personal chapter. By the time a couple or planner reaches my inbox, a few pieces are usually already in place: your venue is chosen, your date is set, and you may have booked your photographer. And that’s exactly when your floral journey can begin.

Initial Enquiry - Where the Story Begins

Chances are, you’ve spent hours scrolling through Instagram, pinning ideas, comparing styles, and feeling both inspired and slightly overwhelmed. Somewhere in all that browsing, you discovered my work-and something about it resonated. That moment of “yes, this feels like us” is where our connection begins.

Once your venue and date are confirmed, reach out and share some details about your day. I’ll check my availability, and if the date is free, we can start exploring how to bring your vision to life.

I’ll respond to your enquiry and invite you to a consultation, one of my favourite parts of the whole journey. It’s a chance for us to talk through your ideas, where you’re at in the planning process, and the atmosphere you want your guests to feel on the day. We’ll talk about seasons, colours, textures, and how to create designs that complement your venue and reflect your personalities beautifully. I’m always happy to guide you on budget, areas of impact, and thoughtful ways to repurpose your arrangements from ceremony to reception so they work hard throughout your day.

Following our conversation, I’ll create a bespoke mood board and tailored quotation. If you feel we’re the right fit (such a wonderful moment!), you can secure your date with a deposit, and your floral story truly begins.

Between Booking and the Big Day

The months leading up to your wedding are full of excitement, and it’s completely normal for ideas to shift. Inspiration evolves, colour palettes change, and sometimes guest lists do too. Don’t worry, I will adapt with you. Florals should evolve naturally alongside your plans.

As your day approaches, we’ll schedule a final details meeting. If possible, I love visiting your venue with you; seeing the space in person always helps refine the final designs. If

distance makes that difficult, a video call works beautifully too. After this, I’ll send an updated mood board and the final quote so everything feels clear and aligned.

Behind the Scenes - The Week Before Your Wedding

As your wedding draws near, things start humming behind the scenes. I preorder your blooms from trusted wholesalers and reach out to local growers for seasonal British stems that add something truly special.

Four to five days before your wedding, the studio transforms. Buckets are scrubbed until they shine, vessels and mechanics are laid out, and styling elements are gathered together. It’s all quiet preparation, but it’s the foundation of everything that follows. Music fills the space, and the excitement begins to build.

Most of your flowers arrive around four days before the wedding. Conditioning begins-each stem trimmed, cleaned, inspected, and settled into fresh water. Some flowers need a little extra attention, but this is the moment I really start to see your colour palette and textures take shape. The scent in the studio changes. Everything starts to come together.

In the days that follow, we create as much as we can ahead of time while keeping your flowers as fresh and vibrant as possible. As we get closer, I always think about my couples-the emotions, the anticipation, the hope that you’re finding time to breathe it all in and enjoy the build-up.

Your Wedding Day

And suddenly… it’s here.

I’m up early, fuelled by a cuppa, with the van loaded full of your carefully prepared flowers. Once we arrive at your venue, we begin transforming the space - arrangements placed thoughtfully, colours layered, textures built, and every detail refined.

At some point in the morning, I slip away to deliver your bouquet. This moment never stops being emotional for me. For you, I hope it’s a moment of pure joy - your first glimpse of how everything will look. For me, it’s a mix of nerves, pride, and gratitude.

After the ceremony, my team and I repurpose arrangements where needed, then quietly step away, leaving you to celebrate surrounded by the flowers designed just for you.

The Morning After

While you both enjoy a slow morning reliving every magical moment, I’ll return to your venue to collect vessels, clear down installations, and gather any arrangements ready for you to take home. I love bundling the remaining flowers into small posies for you or your guests.

If you prefer, I can also arrange for your flowers to be donated to a local hospice - bringing beauty and comfort to others once your celebration has ended.

A Moment of Reflection

There’s no perfect word for the feeling of driving home after a wedding. It’s a blend of pride, joy, tired feet, and a full heart.

I always take a quiet moment to reflect. As you share a wedding breakfast surrounded by blooms, or as your guests dance beneath floral installations, I feel deeply grateful to have played a small part in creating those memories.

Being a wedding florist is far more than arranging flowers - it’s storytelling, artistry, and heart. It’s transforming a vision into something you can walk into, breathe in, and feel. It’s contributing to a day that will stay with you for a lifetime.

And each couple I work with reminds me just how special this work is. I will never stop feeling honoured to be trusted with such an important part of your day.

Thank you for letting me be part of your story.
